Internet, Collaboration And Cloud Technology Trends Marked For 2014

Cisco experts and visionaries have defined several predictions as drivers of ICT in the coming years. The WebRTC technology (Real Time Communication) allow real-time Web collaboration, since all browsers come equipped with the functionalities of a video, calls voice, instant messaging and content sharing without installing any additional plug-in.

The Internet of Things and communications M2M facilitate connections between people, processes, data and objects, combining different technologies among which include video, mobility, Cloud, Dedicated Servers, Big Data, and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications. The Internet of Things will be part of the physical world (supermarkets, roads, bio-medical devices, and even animals and people) through sensors that generate terabytes of data in the new economy applications.

Meanwhile, the technology of video in ultra-high definition (2160p and 4k-8k-4320p) will be essential part of smartphones, augmented reality glasses, tablets and other devices equipped with camera. The ability of real-time analysis is based on different technologies to process data in seconds or minutes, and applied to areas such as Business Intelligence, which will run from the tools of financial analysis to different segments such as advertising or transport, using the value of data in motion.

The gradual growth of connected devices is so large that the network is not strong enough to bear it. Therefore, there are proposals to replace infrastructure based on IP protocol with a new model called Named Data Networking (NDN), which will process the information by name and not by IP addresses. Another approach is defined by software technologies (SD-X, Software Defined Any), which go beyond the virtualization network (SDN and NFV) to increase its scalability through both physical and virtual resources. In addition, networks can self-managed in terms of configuration, security, optimization and troubleshooting using technologies such as Networking Contract or SON (Self-Organizing Networks).

Likewise, the environments like public, private and hybrid cloud solutions configurations based on static environments give way to cloud dynamics and multi-provider. New technologies enable providers to discover services across multiple cloud environments, adopt common Level Agreements Service or create actions to provide the most economical service.
